An admissions committee reviews your child’s file. If the committee feels the program would meet your child’s needs, you and your child are invited for a tour and an interview.
-
When is the application deadline?
Churchill has a rolling admissions policy with Day School placements being made when spaces become available. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
-
Do you have speech/language, occupational or physical therapists on staff?
No, we do not. Churchill is strictly an academically based program. If your child needs additional services, staff members can guide you to private therapists that may service your child during the school day within our facility or off site during non-school hours.
-
Will you accept a child that has a diagnosis of ADD, ADHD or OHI?
Each applicant’s file is reviewed on an individualized basis. Churchill will consider for admissions students with a diagnosis of Other Health Impaired or Attention Deficit Disorder providing other criteria for admissions is met. This criterion includes, but is not limited to, average to above average intellectual potential and documentation of the need for remedial education.

-

-

The male-to-female ratio is typically four boys to one girl, which is characteristic of the learning disabled population.
-
Would my child have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities?
Yes. There are various activities offered such as art classes, drama, sports, science and social events.
-
How do families afford Churchill?
Families pay for Churchill in a variety of ways. The most common are need-based financial aid, monthly installment option, low interest loans and support from grandparents and other family members.
-
What types of aid does Churchill Center & School offer?
A tuition grant is an award from the school that does not need to be repaid and is based on the family’s financial need. We do not offer merit scholarships.
A family can also utilize our monthly installment option. An outside service divides the year’s tuition into ten monthly interest-free installments. The only cost is a non-refundable administration fee due when applying for the program. When approved, payments are made directly to the service, which in turn reimburses Churchill.
In addition, loans for tuition are also offered through an outside service to credit qualifying families. The program offers the benefits of a ten-year repayment term with low overall cost and interest rate. -
Will applying for financial aid affect my child’s chance for admission?
No. The admissions decision is entirely separate from the financial aid process. A student’s acceptance to the school is based solely on meeting the admissions criteria without regard to the need for financial aid.
-
Should I apply for financial aid?
Few families find it easy to pay private school tuition. Most adjust their spending priorities, maximize both parents’ earnings, and carefully manage assets to do so. Some will need financial assistance no matter how carefully they fine-tune family finances. Churchill Center & School is unable to provide guidelines to help you decide whether to apply for aid because each combination of circumstances is unique to each family.
-
Once we receive our financial aid award and we simply can’t afford the tuition,
is it possible to appeal the financial aid committee’s decision?
Yes. Our committee will reconsider any written information that was not previously considered. If you feel that you have omitted or not appropriately clarified specific financial information, mention this in your appeal for consideration. The committee may ask for additional information to review.
